General Summary

Supports company’s sales activities through customer account management, communication with internal/external partners, and identifying opportunities for business growth. Works with cross-functional teams to support launches, address customer needs, and maintain smooth operations. Prepares reports, tracks key metrics, and supports strong customer relationships. Daily conversational Japanese proficiency is required due to frequent coordination with headquarter in Japan.

Primary

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Supports sales activities and projects from initial opportunity through production launch, working with company teams, OEM customers, and cross-functional departments.
  • Assists with day-to-day account management and alignment with customer requirements.
  • Maintains customer relationships and supports new business opportunities.
  • Communicates customer needs to internal teams and helps ensure deliverables are met.
  • Supports issue resolution, program kickoffs, and milestone tracking.
  • Reviews inventory levels and collaborates with teams to address shortages or excess.
  • Prepares updates, reports, and documentation related to account status and KPIs.
  • Assists with production scheduling and maintains awareness of customer priorities.
  • Participates in risk assessments and offers input on potential launch challenges.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, supply chain, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: 3+ years of experience in sales, program management, or related automotive/manufacturing role.
  • Will consider: candidates with less experience who meet core requirements.
  • Daily conversational Japanese proficiency required (speaking, reading, writing).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Familiarity with design/quality terminology and ability to communicate with customer Purchasing, Quality, and Design contacts.
  • Ability to use project management tools, ERP systems, customer portals, and MS Office.
  • Strong coordination and follow-through skills with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
  • Basic negotiation abilities; willingness to develop further skills.
  • Foundational analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong customer service mindset with professionalism and responsiveness.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Clear communication skills, including active listening and effective written/verbal communication.
