Ivywood Classical Academy is a tuition‑free public school that educates students using a virtues‑based and rigorous classical education tradition. The curriculum emphasizes a broad education in the humanities, sciences, arts, Spanish, and Latin, integrating a "why" behind our lessons to foster love of learning and deep understanding.

• Hold organizational meetings for team prospects and encourage potential athletes to participate in the sport.
• Assess players' skills and assign team positions.
• Develop a detailed practice schedule and organize practice time for both individual and team development.
• Maintain adequate practice attendance and performance records.
• Coach and instruct players individually or in groups regarding rules, regulations, equipment, techniques, and strategies.
• Observe and continually assess players during competition and practice to determine needs for improvement.
• Establish and maintain standards of behavior and provide supervision of athletes during practices and competitions.
• Monitor academic performance to ensure eligibility; encourage students to maintain high academic standards.
• Follow established procedures for athlete injuries.
• Confer with parents/guardians regarding athletic performance as necessary.
• Adhere to MHSAA and school regulations governing the athletic program.
• Model sports‑like behavior and maintain conduct toward players, officials; care for equipment, supplies, uniforms.
• Participate in fundraising activities as needed.
• Carry out other duties assigned by the Academy Administrator.

• Minimum age 18 years.
• Experience as a coach or assistant coach at middle or high school level.
• Effective coaching techniques and skills.
• Thorough knowledge of MHSAA rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques.
• Ability to build effective relationships with administrators, parents, and students.
• Reliable transportation.
