The Foundation Brake NVH Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of brake system NVH performance and customer satisfaction. This position requires leadership and technical expertise in the field of NVH as it relates to foundation brake systems.
- Lead and oversee all brake system foundation brake Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) testing for electromechanical brake actuators (EMB) across North America, ensuring adherence to internal and external customer requirements.
- Orchestrate global coordination of foundation brake NVH testing and procedures, communicating effectively with both internal departments and external service providers to maintain consistency and excellence.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for global coordination of foundation brake NVH discussions, requirements, and procedures directly with internal and external customers.
- Facilitate and drive global coordination of foundation brake NVH topics with platform team NVH experts, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes innovation and problem‑solving.
- Continuously monitor and analyze NVH testing results, providing comprehensive reports and recommendations to management and relevant stakeholders to drive product improvements and maintain a competitive advantage.
A minimum of 15 years of experience in brake system NVH is strongly preferred. A Bachelor's degree in engineering is required; a Master's degree or higher is highly advantageous. The ideal candidate must possess extensive experience in foundation brake NVH, including:
- Knowledge of vehicle city traffic schedules, testing methods, and analysis tools.
- Proficiency in corner assembly NVH dyno testing methods and component‑level NVH testing (FRF, mode/deflection analysis).
- Understanding of NVH countermeasures such as rotor material/geometry changes, caliper modifications, and brake pad modifications/insulators.
- Track record in NVH simulation methods, particularly complex eigenvalue analysis and other CAE tools.
- Experience with brake pulsation/roughness procedures and mitigation strategies.
- Ability to lead global NVH teams, develop test methods and procedures, and coordinate with customers.
