We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Design Engineer to join a forward-thinking research and development team. In this role, you’ll lead the design and integration of cutting-edge electronic systems, from concept through validation, with a focus on innovation, precision, and performance. You’ll collaborate closely with multidisciplinary experts to turn ideas into functional prototypes and impactful real-world solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver Technical Excellence: Plan and execute work to meet project milestones and key performance indicators, ensuring the successful completion of reports, prototypes, and validations.
- Electronic Circuit Design: Design and develop advanced analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits for proof-of-concept and demonstration units. Create schematic diagrams, PCB layouts, and component specifications while performing simulation and analysis using industry-standard tools.
- System Integration & Packaging: Engineer compact, robust packaging for electronic assemblies that meet EMC and shielding requirements. Partner with mechanical and optical teams on enclosure design, thermal management, and overall system integration.
- Laser & Optical Control Systems: Design precision control circuits for laser systems and optical components, implementing safety interlocks and synchronization for chip-scale laser applications.
- Prototype Development: Collaborate with vendors to manufacture, assemble, and test prototypes. Conduct performance validation, troubleshoot issues, and document testing methods and results.
- Research
Collaboration:
Work within cross-disciplinary teams to deliver prototypes, develop intellectual property, and contribute to scientific publications. An active interest in research and publishing is highly valued. - Safety & Culture: Champion and actively participate in maintaining a strong safety culture within the workplace.
Education & Experience:
- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with equivalent professional experience
Core Competencies:
- Circuit Design: Strong proficiency in analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design, including RF fundamentals.
- CAD Tools: Experience using PCB design tools such as Altium Designer, KiCad, or similar software.
- Simulation Tools: Skilled in SPICE, LTSpice, or equivalent circuit simulation platforms.
- Programming: Working knowledge of C/C++ or Python for circuit control and lab automation.
- Test & Measurement: Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, spectrum and network analyzers, and laser diagnostic instruments.
Preferred
Skills:
- Knowledge of integrated photonic interconnects.
- Familiarity with 3D modeling tools (Solid Works, AutoCAD).
- Experience with rapid prototyping technologies (3D printing, CNC machining).
- Background in RF/microwave circuit integration.
