Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide technical support to assist Control Systems Engineering in the development and validation of ADVICS products. This includes:
- Collection of vehicle data based on customer test procedures.
- Performing data analysis to ensure customer requirements are being met.
- Tracking validation progress to ensure milestones are met.
- Generation of validation reports for customer approval.
- Evaluation of vehicle performance.
- Modification of brake control software and calibrations to improve vehicle performance.
- Development of demonstration vehicles to exhibit innovation and improvement to current and upcoming controls products.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide additional technical support to assist in the development and validation of ADVICS products. This includes:
- Installation of prototype brake components.
- Installation of data acquisition systems and sensors for data collection.
- Preparation of vehicles for data collection including burnishing tires and brake components.
- Troubleshooting/debugging vehicle, data acquisition and sensor issues.
- Maintaining/creating documentation to improve testing procedures.
- The work environment for this position will encompass many settings including labs, garages, proving grounds, and the typical business office.
- Travel to the Fowlerville Proving Grounds 3-5 days a week is expected.
- Travel to winter test is encouraged in January and February but there is flexibility based on class schedule. Availability for 2-6 weeks is desired.
- Ability to lift miscellaneous equipment used in the development process including tires & rims, production & prototype vehicle parts, data acquisition equipment, and vehicle ballast up to a maximum of 50lbs.
- Basic Equipment needed:
Laptop Computer, Security Badge.
