The Farmington Public Safety Department is now hiring public safety officers, with cross-training for police, fire, and emergency services positions. They seek men and women interested in joining a great team and organization.

We offer paid sponsor ships for qualified candidates, fostering a family-like work environment. The ideal candidate has any of the following certifications: MCOLES certified or certifiable, Firefighter I and II, and a Michigan medical license, but it is not required.   • Mobile Field Force
  • Oakland County Incident Management Team
  • Oakland County Hazmat Team
  • Oakland County Technical Rescue Team
  • Starting Wage is $56,351 (top pay: $84,502 after four years)
    • New contract coming on 7/1/2025
  • $650 annual uniform allowance
  • 12-hour shifts – every other weekend off
  • Overtime opportunities

Requirements

Applicants must possess a valid State of Michigan driver’s license and be at least 21 years of age. They must meet the current selection and hiring standards of the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) as well as the requirements of the Michigan Fire Fighters Training Council (MFFTC). A comprehensive background investigation is required. Candidates must also have an associate’s degree or equivalent credit hours if they are pursuing a higher degree.
