Responsible for selecting, measuring, and fitting eyewear following the doctors’ spectacle prescription specifications.

• Customize the patient’s spectacle prescription using the E.A.R.N. for Eyewear Consultants process methodology and troubleshoot any previous eyewear issues
• Communicate the preferred lens family of products and the benefits of each
• Know each frame line and the material it is made of to properly pre-adjust the frame prior to measurements
• Conduct and record various measurements required to fabricate the lenses
• Input and process eyewear orders into the software program for the optical laboratory
• Follow-up with eyewear orders through completion and delivery
• Ensure visual displays and eyewear products are clean in accordance with the store specific plan‑ogram
• Interpret, explain, and apply vision insurance coverage; assist with dispensing, adjusting, and troubleshooting eyewear
• Assist with front desk duties such as checking patients in and out, scheduling appointments, and retrieving insurance eligibility
• Neutralize and verify the spectacle prescription in the eyewear through the use of auto and manual lensometry, as needed

• High school diploma or GED
• Previous computer experience and basic math skills preferred
• Previous customer service, retail, or hospitality experience preferred
• Previous dispensing/optical experience preferred
• Must be able to walk, bend and stand for extended periods of time
• Completion of all required training courses as directed by Henry Ford Optimeyes
• Must meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards and behaviors as outlined in the HFHS’ Customer Service Policy
• Must practice the customer skills as provided through ongoing training and in‑services

• Works in a retail optical environment
• Requires evening and weekend hours
