The Plymouth, MI facility serves as corporate headquarters and specializes in suspension, driveline, and track systems. The Lansing and Lapeer, MI facilities specialize in fabrications and armor product solutions. ARV’s St. Mary's, OH facility manufactures rubber track products for agricultural, construction, and defense industries.

Job Title: Production Supervisor

Department: Production

Shift: 2nd (4:30 pm–3:00 am)

Summary

Directs and coordinates activities of production department(s) in processing materials or manufacturing products in an industrial organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Resolves workplace issues/problems; submits unsettled grievances to the Operations Manager and/or Human Resources for resolution.
  • Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.
  • Oversees the daily operations of production departments including machining, assembly, welding, and related activities.
  • Conducts employee training on equipment operations and safety procedures.
  • Works with other departments to drive continuous improvement efforts and reduce costs.
  • Adjusts the production plan in time according to changes in the demand plan.
  • Maintains production schedules to ensure timely delivery of customer products.
  • Completes production plans by scheduling and assigning personnel, accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
  • Schedules personnel based on current workload and skill availability to best utilize skills and machines.
  • Coordinates activities between shifts.
  • Enforces company policies regarding safety, quality, productivity, and discipline.
  • Resolves personnel problems by investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action. Resolves employee issues through problem resolution.
  • Supports Kaizen and other continuous improvement activities.

Education And/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four‑year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Background in welding/fabricating and/or machining preferred.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
