The Quality Inspector 2 is responsible for performing comprehensive quality checks and tests on units, materials, and products throughout the production process to ensure they meet established quality, safety, and reliability standards. This role involves both in‑process and final inspections, data analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives to uphold product quality and compliance.

  • Shift: 1 (5:45 AM – 2:00 PM) and 2 (1:45 PM – 10:00 PM)
Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect finished and in‑process goods to verify compliance with work instructions, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Perform first‑piece inspections to ensure initial units produced meet quality control criteria.
  • Conduct visual, mechanical, and functional tests on products using appropriate tools and gaging instruments.
  • Accurately record inspection results and relevant statistical data.
  • Input data into quality management systems and assist in generating reports to track production quality and performance trends.
  • Summarize inspection data and document findings to highlight deviations from established standards.
  • Assist in the development, writing, and updating of inspection procedures, protocols, and checklists to reflect best practices.
  • Analyze inspection data to identify root causes of defects or non‑conformance and collaborate with teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by suggesting methods to enhance quality, efficiency, and product reliability.
  • Perform internal audits to verify that quality standards, processes, and procedures are consistently followed.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
  • Escalate quality concerns or issues to management when necessary, providing detailed documentation of findings.
  • Complete all necessary quality documentation accurately, maintaining a high level of detail and consistency.
  • Follow established safety protocols and adhere to all environmental and quality policies to ensure a safe and compliant working environment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following 5S principles.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Skills/Competencies
  • Ability to interpret and follow detailed work instructions and quality standards to ensure product compliance.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects, deviations from standards, and non‑conformities in products or processes.
  • Basic verbal and written communication skills to document inspection results, provide feedback, and report quality issues.
  • Basic math skills for measuring and calculating dimensions, tolerances, and statistical data.
  • Basic knowledge of quality control tools and techniques, including the use of gaging instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, and height gauges).
  • Basic computer skills for entering data into tracking systems and preparing inspection reports.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, collaborating with other inspectors, production staff, and supervisors to meet quality goals.
  • Ability to identify problems, communicate issues clearly, and contribute to solutions that improve product quality.
