Position: Electro-Mechanical Reliability Technician — High-Speed Bakery Operations
Keep a High-Speed Bakery Moving in Plymouth, MIWalk onto the floor at 4:55 PM, join a quick huddle with production and sanitation, and then make your first rounds: ovens humming, conveyors flowing, baggers and tyers ready for the night’s push. You’ll keep complex systems healthy, solve problems fast, and help a close-knit team deliver fresh product around the clock. This is a direct-hire role with Pro Services partnering with a leading bakery in Plymouth, MI.What

You’ll Tackle Execute preventive maintenance on critical assets — ovens, high-speed conveyors, coolers, sifters, mixers, proof boxes, baggers, and tyers — to prevent unplanned downtime.

Diagnose and repair electro-mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled equipment, including motors, sensors, instrumentation, distribution, and feed-control components.

Resolve issues on PLC/HMI-driven equipment at a basic troubleshooting level; collaborate with engineering as needed for deeper logic support.

Inspect, adjust, and replace worn parts (belts, bolts, bearings, seals, shafts, gearboxes) to restore reliability.

Partner with production, sanitation, engineering, and maintenance teammates to keep lines running safely and efficiently.

What You Bring4+ years as a maintenance mechanic in heavy industrial, manufacturing, or bakery environments.

Hands-on experience with complex conveyor systems, including troubleshooting and mechanical rebuilds.

Solid electrical and mechanical foundation: three-phase motors, bearings, seals, shafts, gearboxes — install, replace, and repair.

Comfort in fast-paced production; known as a team player who jumps in wherever needed.

Food/bakery background a plus; PLC/HMI troubleshooting exposure a plus.

Tools & Technical Depth Bring your own hand tools: wrenches, Allen key set, jaw pliers, chain lock.

Electrical capability across 110–240V single-phase and 480V three-phase; strong with motors and relays.

Wire electric motors; maintain and troubleshoot VFDs, three-phase equipment, sensors, and digital/analog I/O.Mechanical aptitude to rebuild devices; conveyor systems experience required.

Basic pneumatics.

Welding: MIG required; TIG is a plus.

Schedule & Pay

Shift: Third shift / nights, 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM

Schedule:

Rotating 3-2-3; average ~48 hours/week; availability to cover other shifts as needed

Weekend:
Every Friday and every other weekend

Compensation: $34.41/hour base + $1.55/hour night shift differential

Physical Demands & PPEOccasionally lift, carry, push, and pull up to 100 lbs (under 1/3 of shift); frequent walking (~50%) and standing (~30%).Regular kneeling and crouching; occasional ladder/scaffold work.

Work around wet, slippery, and narrow surfaces; normal vision, hearing, and speaking required.

PPE: hairnet, safety glasses, ear protection, beard net.
