Project Accountant

Location: Plymouth, MN
Salary: $70,000 - $85,000

• Play a key role in the financial success of construction projects from startup through final closeout.
• Partner directly with Project Managers, Accounting leaders, subcontractors, and customers.
• Gain exposure to complex project accounting, contract administration, and compliance requirements.
• Own critical billing processes including AIA invoicing, progress billings, and customer payment applications.
• Develop expertise with leading construction technology platforms such as Procore, Textura, Ariba, and Docu Sign.
• Contribute to monthly WIP reporting and project financial reviews, increasing your operational and financial visibility.
• Work in a collaborative environment where your attention to detail directly impacts project profitability and cash flow.

• Manage customer billings, AIA applications, progress billings, and invoice submissions through customer platforms.
• Track project financial activity, including change orders, revenue capture, and Work-in-Progress reporting support.
• Coordinate collections efforts and help ensure timely payment of outstanding receivables.
• Administer project compliance documentation, including lien waivers, certified payroll reporting, insurance certificates, and subcontractor requirements.
• Process project closeout documentation and maintain organized project records throughout the project lifecycle.
• Serve as a key liaison between Accounting, Project Management, customers, subcontractors, and field teams.

• 3+ years of experience in project accounting, construction accounting, billing, or construction finance.
• Strong understanding of AIA billing, job costing, and construction project compliance requirements.
• Experience working with change orders, construction contracts, and project documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with construction ERP/accounting systems such as COINS, Vista by Viewpoint, Spectrum, or similar platforms.
