Position Overview

As a Sourcing Specialist II on our fasteners team, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the full product lifecycle—from development through production. You'll support strategic sourcing initiatives, lead cross‑functional coordination, and drive supplier performance for critical fastener components. With a focus on Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), cost reduction, and supplier development, this role is ideal for someone who thrives on problem‑solving and strategic collaboration.

If you’re ready to bring your sourcing expertise to a fast‑paced, innovation‑driven environment, this is the opportunity to make a real impact at an industry leader.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead coordination between engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to support vehicle programs across all phases—from development to post‑launch.
  • Manage supplier relationships and ensure alignment with cost, quality, and delivery expectations.
  • Identify supplier performance risks and cost‑saving opportunities; support issue resolution and cost recovery initiatives.
  • Oversee VMI programs and help resolve part shortages or delivery issues in collaboration with suppliers.
  • Conduct RFQs and proposals in alignment with defined commodity strategies and cost objectives.
  • Support the development and implementation of supplier contracts and tooling negotiations.
  • Analyze costs, track savings projects in the VIP tracker, and implement approved cost‑reduction initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the supplier quality team to address quality issues, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Monitor supplier capacity, lead times, and production schedules to ensure continuity and flexibility.
  • Contribute to the onboarding and exit of suppliers, including transitions of tools and parts.
Desired Competencies
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration – You work well across departments and bring together engineering, operations, and suppliers to achieve shared goals.
  • Analytical Thinking – You use data and financial analysis to identify trends, drive cost savings, and make strategic sourcing decisions.
  • Supplier Relationship Management – You build strong, performance‑driven relationships with suppliers that support mutual success and long‑term value.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 2+ years of sourcing, procurement, or supply chain experience.
  • Strong negotiation, decision‑making, and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Skilled in presenting to leadership, with excellent verbal and written communication across all levels of an organization.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
  • Comfortable representing Polaris in supplier meetings and driving accountability.
  • Familiarity with APICS CPIM and/or ISM C.P.M./A.P.P. certifications preferred.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% as needed.
