Position Title: Project Manager, Trade Compliance

Duration: 12 months

Location: Plymouth, MN 55442

Summary

Project Manager to lead strategic initiatives focused on global tariff mitigation, trade compliance, forecasting, and supporting financial reporting processes. This role will manage critical projects such as maintaining USMCA certification, leveraging the Nairobi Protocol, administering duty drawback programs, and overseeing post-summary corrections to reduce tariff impact and ensure compliance. Additional responsibilities include recommending and executing supplier and/or manufacturing location change projects and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.

The position requires strong cross‑functional collaboration with R&D, Marketing, Procurement, and Corporate Trade teams to deliver cost savings and compliance excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Tariff Mitigation & Compliance Projects
    • Lead initiatives to minimize tariff exposure through trade agreements (USMCA, Nairobi Protocol).
    • Identify and execute projects to change suppliers and/or relocate manufacturing.
    • Develop and maintain compliance documentation and certifications.
    • Manage duty drawback programs to recover eligible duties and optimize cost savings.
    • Oversee post‑summary corrections to ensure accurate customs filings and compliance.
  • Nairobi Protocol Submission Management
    • Coordinate with R&D, Marketing, and Global Trade teams to prepare submission packages, including:
      • Technical specifications and material use justifications.
      • Instructions for Use (IFUs) and marketing collateral.
      • Finished goods documentation for regulatory approval.
  • Corporate Representation & Executive Communication
    • Represent EP on corporate tariff strategy calls, manage all reporting, and provide updates on key initiatives.
    • Prepare and deliver executive‑level presentations and dashboards for EP leadership and corporate stakeholders.
  • Financial Analysis & Forecasting
    • Partner with finance to forecast tariff impacts and track cost savings.
    • Support month‑end performance reporting related to tariff exposure.
  • Cross‑Functional Leadership
    • Collaborate with Procurement, Logistics, Regulatory, Legal, R&D, and Marketing teams to execute compliance projects.
    • Act as the primary liaison for trade compliance audits and inquiries.
  • Education & Enablement
    • Develop and deliver training programs to educate internal stakeholders on tariff regulations, compliance processes, and mitigation strategies.
  • Continuous Improvement & Risk Management
    • Monitor global trade policy changes and assess implications for EP supply chain.
    • Recommend process improvements to enhance compliance efficiency and reduce risk.
    • Develop standardized reporting templates and dashboards for leadership visibility.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Experience
    • 5+ years in supply chain, trade compliance, or project management roles.
    • Strong knowledge of international trade agreements (USMCA, Nairobi Protocol) and tariff regulations.
  • Skills
    • Project management expertise (PMP certification preferred).
    • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
    • Proficiency in creating executive‑level presentations (PowerPoint) and data analysis (Excel, ERP systems).
Preferred Attributes
  • Experience in medical device or regulated industry.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and trade compliance tools.
  • Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
