Pay Range:$25.60 - $51.21 Hourly

Job Description:

** Primary Objective of Position
** Responsible for instructing and/or coaching ice skating at the Plymouth Ice Center.

** Major Areas or Responsibility:
*** Ensure skating instruction is provided in accordance with the ISI progression program.
* Support a successful skating program that engages participants and contributes to program growth.  + Provide instruction to skaters of various ages and skill levels.  + Ensure lessons are organized, engaging and focused on proper skating techniques.  + Monitor the well-being and progress of all participants throughout lessons.  + Maintain a safe, supportive and positive environment for all skaters.
* Participate in strategic planning and program meetings.
* Maintain open and effective communication with the Skating Director, coaches, participants, parents and arena staff.

** Minimum Qualifications**:
* Must be at least 16 years of age.
* Must have successfully passed the skating level assigned to instruct.
* Must be able to demonstrate all skills required for the level assigned to teach.
* Must be available to work weekend hours.
* Must be detail-oriented and organized.
* Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
* Must demonstrate positive and effective communication skills with participants.
* Must understand, or be able to learn, effective teaching techniques and proper skill progression.
* Prior skating or teaching experience is preferred.
