Position OverviewCloset Factory is a leading manufacturer specializing in custom closet organization systems. With a commitment to quality and innovation, we pride ourselves on delivering tailor‑made solutions to meet our clients' needs. The manufacturing facility is a hub of creativity and efficiency, where every member of our team plays a crucial role in bringing our clients' visions to life.
The primary task is ensuring the CNC machine (typically a nested‑base router or a point‑to‑point borer) runs efficiently. This includes machine setup and operation.
Key Responsibilities- Loading programs:
Selecting and uploading the correct CAD/CAM design files for specific customer orders. - Material prep:
Selecting the correct melamine, wood, or plywood sheets based on the job ticket (checking for color, thickness, and finish). - Tooling maintenance:
Changing out router bits and drill bits as they dull; ensuring the vacuum seal on the table is strong enough to hold pieces in place. - Verifying dimensions:
Using calipers and tape measures to ensure the machine is cutting to the exact specifications of the design. - Edge quality:
Checking for "chip-out" on melamine surfaces and ensuring holes for shelf pins and cams are clean and at the correct depth. - Labeling:
Applying identification stickers to each part (e.g., "Left Partition - Master Suite") so the assembly and installation teams know exactly where each piece goes. - Nested optimization:
Managing the layout of parts on a sheet to minimize wood waste. - Offcut management:
Sorting and storing usable scrap material for smaller parts like cleats or spacers. - Sorting:
Organizing finished parts onto carts by job number to prepare them for the next stage (usually the Edgebander). - Safety compliance:
Operating the machine within safety guidelines, wearing appropriate PPE (hearing and eye protection), and knowing the location of emergency stops. - Troubleshooting:
Identifying when the machine is acting up, performing basic resets or reporting mechanical issues to the shop foreman.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in manufacturing or woodworking preferred but not required; we are willing to train motivated individuals.
- Ability to read and interpret designs and technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high‑quality work.
- Basic math skills and ability to accurately measure materials.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
