Position: SEASONAL INSPECTOR - HARVEST ONLY (Sept -Oct) Park Rapids

Overview

Perform various duties such as sampling, inspection, and additional services as they arise.

Compensation

Campsite provided
Park Rapids, Minnesota: $20–$25 per hour
8 hours guaranteed work; stay pay of 4 hours if no work is available
Daily attendance bonus

Accountabilities

Maintain a positive attitude with co‑workers, management staff, and customers
Accurately record inspection results
Assist in the implementation of a QA program
Maintain a working knowledge of grading criteria for potato inspection
Perform inspections according to grading criteria
Maintain a high level of confidentiality
Comply with all safety and housekeeping procedures and practices
Stay on duty until relieved or as directed by a supervisor or lead
Accept other accountabilities assigned by appropriate AWSS personnel as necessary

Qualifications

High school education or equivalent preferred
Analytical skills with the ability to calculate averages and percentages
Knowledge of the potato inspection process preferred
Effective communication in English
Follow written and oral instructions
Basic computer skills preferred

Requirements

Lift up to 35 pounds properly
Work outdoors in varied conditions
Stand for long periods of time and remain mobile
Differentiate color (not color blind)
Work around noise, dirt, odors, dust, chemicals, and fumes in poorly ventilated areas
Work around potential mechanical hazards such as machinery, conveyor belts, chains, and forklifts
Work around icy, slippery, muddy, uneven flooring and surfaces
May operate forklifts and/or skid steers
