What You Will Do
- Receive service calls from the Service Resource Center, including a brief description of equipment/system malfunctions.
- Contact customer representatives to ascertain equipment/system problems.
- Perform service and repairs on sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial, and residential applications, including but not limited to wet (steel, copper, and CPVC), dry, pre-action, deluge, and fire pumps.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
- Demonstrate a high level of customer service, strong organizational skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to learn quickly.
- Work independently and follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures, referring to technical manuals, manuals, change notices, and bulletins as needed.
- Must hold a valid Minnesota Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter License. Candidates without this license cannot be considered.
- Previous experience in the fire sprinkler industry performing service and repair of sprinkler and suppression systems.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency with computer/phone systems:
Word, Excel, Outlook, and mobile apps. - Ability to perform service work on all water-based fire protection systems.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer requirements.
- Availability for overnight travel as required.
- Maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs.
- Adherence to, implementation of, and compliance with all safety guidelines and procedures.
- Valid driver’s license with driving record meeting company requirements.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Physical ability to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 70 lbs.
- Ability to work in challenging positions, including ladders, scaffolding, high-lift equipment up to 60 feet, within ducts, crawl spaces, and above ceilings.
- Participation in an on-call rotation.
- NICET certification.
- Backflow certification.
- Fire pump experience.
HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $26/$36 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
