Plymouth | Full Time | Office Based

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a junior Compliance & Administration Assistant to join a highly specialist and internationally recognised maritime law firm based in Plymouth.

Our client is a niche legal practice specialising in shipping, marine transport, insurance and international trade matters, acting for a broad range of clients across the maritime sector including insurers, shipping companies, ports and commercial operators. The firm has an outstanding reputation within its specialist market and is known for its collaborative culture, high-quality work and modern, forward-thinking approach. ()

This is a varied and interesting opportunity which would suit somebody looking to build a long-term career within legal compliance and administration. The successful candidate will play an important role supporting the wider team with compliance responsibilities alongside general office and finance support duties.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting with compliance and regulatory processes
  • Supporting file opening and onboarding procedures
  • Assisting with anti-money laundering and client due diligence processes
  • Providing administrative support to fee earners and the wider team
  • Assisting the finance team with general support duties
  • Maintaining accurate records and internal systems
  • General office administration and coordination tasks
Qualifications

The firm is seeking somebody who is highly organised, proactive and detail-oriented with strong communication skills and a willingness to learn. Previous compliance, administration or legal support experience would be beneficial, although candidates from broader professional services or office-based backgrounds will also be considered.
