Administrator – Barnardo's Family Hubs, Plymouth

22.5 hours per week (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday)

About the Role

Barnardo's is seeking a friendly, organised and proactive Administrator to join our Family Hubs team in Plymouth. This role will be based at our Barn Family Hub. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the delivery of services that help children, young people and families thrive.

As the first point of contact for many families and professionals, you will provide high-quality administrative support to ensure the smooth and efficient running of Family Hub services across Plymouth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the Family Hubs team.
  • Act as a welcoming first point of contact for families, visitors and partner agencies.
  • Manage telephone, email and face-to-face enquiries professionally and sensitively.
  • Maintain accurate records and databases in line with GDPR and organisational policies.
  • Schedule appointments, meetings and activities, and support diary management.
  • Prepare documents, reports, correspondence and meeting minutes as required.
  • Support the collection and monitoring of service data and performance information.
  • Assist with ordering supplies and maintaining office systems and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and partner organisations to support service delivery.
About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience in an administrative or office support role.
  • Possesses excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Has strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Can manage a varied workload and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Has a professional, positive and flexible approach to work.
  • Understands the importance of confidentiality and data protection.
