MET Technician

We are currently seeking an experienced MET Technician to join a reputable automotive repair centre based in Plymouth, Devon. Duties of a MET Technician:

Carry out removal, refit, and replacement of mechanical, electrical, and trim components on vehicles following repair procedures and manufacturer guidance
Support vehicle dismantling and reassembly, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety standards
Identify and report any additional damage or parts requirements during repairs
Ensure all parts for repairs are available, correctly matched, and securely fitted
Conduct quality checks and test vehicle systems to confirm repair integrity before customer handover
Maintain high standards of health and safety, working in a tidy and safe environment
Assist the team with additional tasks as required within your capability and as directed by management

Requirements of a MET Technician:

Proven experience as an MET Technician within an accident repair or automotive environment
Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and trim vehicle systems
Ability to interpret repair estimates and technical instructions accurately
Attention to detail and commitment to high standards of quality
Capable of working effectively independently and within a team
Knowledge of workshop health and safety responsibilities
IMI Accreditation in MET is preferred but not essential
Experience in a bodyshop or accident repair centre is desirable
Familiarity with modern vehicle systems and safety features
