The Box's mission is to be a social space for art, people and ideas, with learning, participation and artistic excellence at its heart. We are a hybrid cultural organisation – part museum, gallery and archive. Recently named Art Fund Museum of the Year 2026, we are keen to build on this success in the years ahead.
With the support of the British Film Institute (BFI) Screen Heritage Fund, awarding National Lottery funding, the Business Support Officer will support The Box's Archives team in delivering our newly funded BFI project, Reframing the Region. The Box secures major BFI funding to transform access to Southwest film heritage | The Box Plymouth
Working across the project's four key work streams, the Business Support Officer will undertake a range of administrative duties while also having the opportunity to learn about our film collections and archival processes. We are looking for someone with a strong interest in film archives, alongside the organisational and administrative skills needed to support a major project. The project will be transformational in how we manage and provide access to our film collections, while strengthening engagement and collaboration with partners across the sector.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone keen to engage with moving image archives and take a significant step into the cultural heritage sector. We welcome applications from individuals who are currently underrepresented within our team, including people with protected characteristics, those with relevant lived experience, and individuals from the global majority.
If you can demonstrate your ability to deliver all aspects of this exciting and varied role, and are passionate about contributing to Plymouth's award-winning cultural offer, we look forward to receiving your application.
