Please note:
this role requires the successful candidate to live and work on the island of Jersey.
We are working on behalf of an established main contractor with a strong and varied portfolio across Jersey, spanning education, hotel and leisure, residential, commercial and healthcare projects. They are now looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to lead day-to-day delivery on one of their live sites.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee all on-site activity, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standard
* Manage subcontractors and direct labour, coordinating trades and sequencing of works
* Maintain robust health, safety and environmental standards on site, including toolbox talks and site inspections
* Liaise with the project manager, design team and client representatives on progress and technical matters
* Maintain accurate site records, including diaries, RAMS and quality documentation
* Support programme and resource planning in conjunction with the wider project team
Ideal Candidate Profile
* Proven experience as a Site Manager on commercial, residential or public sector construction projects
* Strong working knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practice
* SMSTS and CSCS (Black or Gold card) essential;
First Aid at Work desirable
* Confident, hands-on leadership style with the ability to manage multiple trades
* Well organised, with strong attention to programme and quality
* Comfortable working within a close-knit island construction market
