Hays Civil Engineering are working with a leading infrastructure contractor delivering improvements to a wastewater treatment facility near Ashby-de-la-Zouch. As part of an ongoing investment programme, the project involves upgrading treatment assets and associated infrastructure to support future demand and improve operational performance.
An experienced Site Manager is required to support the delivery team through a key phase of construction, testing and final project completion.
Your new role
Reporting into the Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing site activities and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with programme requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing day-to-day site operations
- Coordinating subcontractors and suppliers
- Driving compliance with health, safety and environmental standards
- Monitoring progress against programme targets
- Managing permits, inspections and site documentation
- Liaising with engineering and commercial teams
- Ensuring quality standards are maintained throughout delivery
- Supporting commissioning and handover activities
- Identifying and resolving construction challenges on site
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous Site Management experience within water, utilities or civil engineering projects
- Strong background managing operational construction sites
- Experience supervising subcontractors and direct labour
- Sound knowledge of CDM regulations and site safety procedures
- SMSTS
- CSCS Card
- First Aid at Work
- Full UK Driving Licence
Essential Requirements
- Basic DBS check
- Availability for a short to medium-term contract assignment
Desirable
- Water or wastewater treatment works experience
- MEICA interface experience
- Temporary Works awareness
- Previous AMP programme exposure
