Volker Stevin is looking for an experienced Project Integration Manager to support the delivery of a major defence infrastructure programme in Plymouth.
This is a unique opportunity to work across engineering, construction, commercial, planning, health & safety and stakeholder teams, ensuring projects are fully prepared for delivery and meet the highest standards of governance, assurance and performance.
Due to the nature of the project, applicants must be UK Nationals and either hold, or be eligible to obtain, Security Clearance (SC). Candidates with existing SC clearance are particularly encouraged to apply.
The RoleReporting into the project leadership team, you will provide oversight of project assurance, readiness, governance, risk management and delivery integration activities. You will challenge, support and influence teams to ensure projects are ready for mobilisation, risks are effectively managed and actions are completed.
You will also play a key role in capturing lessons learned, improving project performance and supporting both pre-construction and delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities- Lead integration across delivery, engineering, commercial, planning, H&S and stakeholder teams.
- Manage key project interfaces, dependencies and risks.
- Drive ownership and close-out of actions arising from reviews, meetings and governance forums.
- Lead readiness reviews for critical project activities.
- Coordinate project assurance reviews and monitor completion of actions.
- Oversee project risks and opportunities, ensuring effective mitigation measures are implemented.
- Support the management of CDM and construction risks through design and delivery.
- Work with pre-construction teams to develop practical, buildable and efficient delivery strategies.
- Support the development of methodologies, sequencing and delivery plans.
- Ensure lessons learned are captured and embedded into future project activities.
- Produce reports for senior leadership and governance boards.
- Escalate significant issues with clear recommendations and mitigation plans.
- Promote continuous improvement and best practice across the project.
You may currently be working as a Senior Project Manager, Programme Manager, Operations Manager, Senior Agent, Delivery Manager, Project Assurance Manager or Major Projects Risk Manager.
You will have experience delivering complex infrastructure projects and working across multidisciplinary teams within regulated or high-profile environments.
Experience in one or more of the following sectors is desirable:- Defence
- Marine
- Rail
- Highways
- Major Civil Engineering
- Energy Infrastructure
- Proven experience in project assurance, governance, risk management or project delivery.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication and reporting abilities.
- Experience managing interfaces and coordinating multiple work streams.
- Ability to challenge constructively and drive accountability.
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement and project performance.

Essential Experience- Proven experience delivering major infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of risk management and project assurance.

- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to influence senior leaders and delivery teams alike.
- Experience developing or supporting bids, tenders and pre-construction activities.
- NEC contract experience.
- Defence sector experience.
- Chartered status or working towards chartership.
- Formal project management qualification.
- Experience of behavioural safety and organisational learning programmes.
