OverviewOur client, a public-sector organisation responsible for the historic environment, is looking for a National Projects Manager to manage capital and repair projects across its office estate.
You will oversee multiple construction projects involving existing buildings, working with external consultants and contractors alongside architects, surveyors, facilities managers and technical specialists. The role also includes managing the close-out of residual patent and latent defects on a major restoration project in Shrewsbury.
Regular travel to Shrewsbury is required.
Responsibilities- Manage the effective planning, delivery and close-out of capital and repair projects.
- Oversee multiple concurrent projects and initiatives across an existing building portfolio.
- Manage projects involving building fabric repairs, refurbishments, building services and fit-outs.
- Work with external consultants and contractors to deliver agreed project outcomes.
- Collaborate with architects, surveyors, facilities managers and other technical specialists.
- Manage project budgets, procurement and construction contracts.
- Identify and manage project and contractual risks.
- Manage the close-out of residual patent and latent defects on a major restoration project.
- Experience of construction project management across public estates or portfolios of existing buildings.
- Qualification in Building Surveying, Construction Management, Architecture or another relevant construction discipline.
- Demonstrable experience planning, delivering and closing multiple concurrent projects and/or programmes.
- Experience of construction projects involving building fabric repairs, refurbishments, building services and fit-outs in existing buildings.
- Willingness to travel regularly to Shrewsbury.
