Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work across a range of SEN schools in Plymouth and the surrounding area. With lots of schools needing staff to support pupils’ needs after Christmas, this is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support pupils with SEN, including those with Autism, SEMH needs, ADHD, and learning difficulties

Work one-to-one or in small groups to help pupils access learning and achieve their potential

Assist with behaviour management, emotional regulation, and social development

Follow individualised plans and work closely with teachers and SEN staff

Help create a calm, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

Requirements

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience working with children, or transferable experience from care, youth work, or similar settings

Is patient, empathetic, and confident supporting SEN pupils

Can work independently and as part of a team

Holds a full UK driving licence (preferred, as some schools require travel) — other roles may not require this

Is reliable, committed, and passionate about helping children achieve their potential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
