SEND Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support – English & Maths)

Hours:

Full‑time, Monday–Friday, 9:00 am–3:30 pm
Pay: £90–£100 per day
Expenses:
All expenses reimbursed

Responsibilities
  • Deliver tailored 1:1 Maths and English interventions outside of the mainstream classroom
  • Support pupils with additional needs, including those requiring emotional and behavioural guidance
  • Build positive, trusting relationships to encourage engagement and progress
  • Work independently across locations within Plymouth (mileage reimbursed)
  • Maintain accurate records and collaborate with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals
Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within SEND or alternative provision
  • Strong behaviour management skills with a calm, empathetic approach
  • Good understanding of SEND, including ADHD, ASD, and SEMH
  • Confident communication and ability to build strong professional relationships
  • Confidence delivering Maths and English at Key Stage 2 level
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
