Special Educational Needs Teacher Daily Rate: £168.80 - £261.79

We are seeking a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs to access the school curriculum. This role is ideal for someone who has a deep understanding of Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) issues and cognition and learning needs. The right candidate will be warm, supportive, and skilled in positive behaviour management and the Trauma-informed Schools (TiS) approach.
Day-to-dayof the role
- Plan and prepare lessons tailored to the needs of children with SEND, ensuring all students can access the curriculum effectively.
- Implement and adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Employ positive behaviour management strategies in line with the TiS approach, creating a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Regularly assess and record students' progress, adapting teaching methods as necessary.
- Collaborate with other teachers, parents, and professionals to support the holistic development of students.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills related to SEN teaching.
Skills & Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- Experience in planning, teaching, and marking, specifically within an SEN setting.
- Strong understanding of SEMH and cognition and learning needs.
- Proven ability to apply positive behaviour management techniques effectively.
- Familiarity with the Trauma-informed Schools (TiS) approach is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- DBS on update service is a benefit for an immediate start, if not one can be processed at the fee of £49.50
