Are you passionate about supporting young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to thrive both academically and emotionally? Teaching Personnel is seeking a caring, resilient, and committed SEND Teaching Assistant to work full time across secondary schools in the Plymouth area.
This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy building meaningful relationships with young people and making a genuine difference in their day‑to‑day school experience.
Responsibilities- Provide tailored support to pupils with a range of SEND, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties
- Work 1:1 or with small groups to support learning, engagement, and emotional regulation
- Assist students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in and out of the classroom
- Support the class teacher and SENCO in implementing EHCP targets and support strategies
- Help manage behaviour positively and promote inclusion and independence
- Foster a safe, supportive, and nurturing learning environment
- Patient, empathetic, and resilient in your approach
- Passionate about inclusive education and supporting SEND pupils
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Able to build positive, trusting relationships with young people
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND is desirable but not essential
- Backgrounds in education, psychology, care, youth work, or support roles are welcomed
