Reception Year Teacher – Part time, long-term temporary and ongoing from September 2026

This Reception Year Teacher role offers a part time, long-term temporary and ongoing opportunity starting in September 2026. The Reception Year Teacher will play a key role in delivering high-quality early years education, supporting children’s learning, development, and well-being at a vital stage of their school journey. This role is ideal for a committed Reception Year Teacher who enjoys creating engaging, child‑centred learning experiences within a supportive school environment.

Duties

as Reception Year Teacher:
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage framework
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment
  • Support children’s development across communication, language, social, and early learning skills
  • Use observation and assessment to monitor progress and inform next steps
  • Promote positive behaviour, routines, and independence
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and early years staff
  • Build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues
  • Support smooth transitions into and within early years provision
  • Maintain accurate records of children’s progress and development
  • Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety responsibilities at all times
Ideal Reception Year Teacher:
  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching in Reception or early years settings
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child development
  • Creative, patient, and nurturing teaching approach
  • Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliable and committed to a long-term role
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
