Behavioural Support Assistant | SEMH & Mentorship | Local Secondary Schools
Job Details- Position:
Full-Time, Long-Term (Term Time Only) - Salary: £92.56 - £95 per day (Weekly Pay - dependent on experience)

Immediate / Next Term - Schedule:
Approx. 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, no take-home work
- Act as a stabiliser in the classroom, help students regulate emotions and remain engaged.
- Recognise triggers and apply low-level de-escalation techniques to prevent disruptions.
- Provide 1:1 and small group mentorship to build rapport, improve social skills, and boost self-esteem.
- Support the Inclusion or "Bridge" unit, offering a safe space for students who find the mainstream environment overwhelming.
- Collaborate with SENCO and Pastoral Leads to implement individual behaviour plans (IBPs).
- Resilient, patient with a thick skin and empathy; understand that "behaviour is communication."
- Relevant experience from PRU, youth work, sports coaching, residential care, psychology, police/military, or similar.
- Strong communication skills, able to build trust with hard-to-reach teenagers while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Committed to safeguarding: hold or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS.
- Dedication to child welfare and safeguarding.
