Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant – Full-time, long-term temporary and ongoing from September 2026

Duties as Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant:
  • Support pupils across Key Stage 1 in lessons and daily classroom activities
  • Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning
  • Assist with phonics, early reading, writing, and numeracy activities
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and well‑managed classroom environment
  • Support classroom routines, transitions, and organisation
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff
  • Observe and share information on pupil progress with teaching staff
  • Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and independence
  • Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety responsibilities at all times
Ideal Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant:
  • Experience working with children in Key Stage 1 or early years settings
  • Understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum and child development
  • Patient, nurturing, and supportive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
