Salisbury Road Primary School is looking to appoint a passionate, hardworking and driven Apprentice Teaching Assistant to join their outstanding team. This vacancy is being managed by Plymouth Teachers and Schools Alliance.

Responsibilities
  • Work under the direction of teachers and senior staff to provide safe, high-quality education and care for young children.
  • Maintain a stimulating and enjoyable learning environment.
  • Carry out the professional duties of a Teaching Assistant as required.
  • Take responsibility for child protection issues as appropriate and promote safeguarding welfare of children and young people within the school.
  • Be committed and driven to achieve the best for every child and contribute as an outstanding member of the school community.
  • Be supported within the role by the school and the apprenticeship provider.
Training and qualifications
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Standard
  • Behaviours, Skills & Knowledge
  • Functional Skills in Maths and English at level 2 (if not exempt through prior qualifications)
  • Regular visits at the workplace from a designated assessor to observe progress and competence in the role
  • Training days will be once a month at Plymouth Teachers and School Alliance
Employment prospects

There may be the potential for full-time employment on successful completion of the apprenticeship across the Learning Academies Trust, for the right candidate.

Salisbury Road is a two form entry primary school serving the locality of St Judes, near the city centre. We are in a large Victorian building and work closely with local partners.
