We’re looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to join our Ground Engineering team in Plymouth.

Our Ground Engineering Practice covers all aspects of Ground Engineering serving a wide range of end markets including:

You will be joining an established team of Ground Engineers within AECOM’s southern UK region, will be based in the AECOM Plymouth Office and will work closely with colleagues from across the UK & Ireland.

Job Duties
  • Delivery
    :
    We require ambitious team players with the technical and commercial skills, knowledge and experience to manage tasks and assist the team with the delivery of projects, ensuring technical quality and adherence to budget and programme.
  • Provide Expertise
    :
    Active input into team/client technical review meetings, being prepared to own decisions and put forward alternative ideas and concepts.
  • Commercial
    :
    Maintaining high levels of client satisfaction, being responsive to client requirements, and supporting with the development of fee proposals and bids for internal and external clients.
  • Mentoring
    :
    Owning personal and professional development and on the job mentoring of junior staff.

The position will suit a candidate who has some experience in applying geotechnical design, can work with a high degree of independence, can support junior team members, can budget/programme deliverables and provide the geotechnical input to projects from desk study/feasibility through to ground investigation and interpretation to final design including preparation of specifications, interpretive reports, construction drawings and design reports.

Qualifications
  • BEng / MEng in Civil Engineering or BSc and/or MSc in Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer (IEng/CEng) status is desirable, or you have a plan and are on track to achieve this. The team will provide the necessary support to achieve this.
