At Babcock we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together, and if you join us, you can play your part as a CDM Safety Advisor at our Devonport Royal Dockyard site.

• Assess contractors’ safety management systems and onboarding processes.
• Conduct inspections of contractor activities and monitor compliance.
• Support the SHE Lead in planning, delivery, and evaluation of contractor performance.
• Provide professional advice on health and safety processes and practical application.
• Develop and maintain health and safety reports, policies, and arrangements.

• Extensive construction health and safety experience in hazardous industries.
• Minimum 3 years’ SHE experience in high‑risk environments (desirable).
• Working with SSIP organisations (Accredited SSIP assessor).
• Experience supporting contractor onboarding and maintenance operations.
• Scaffold awareness, Work at Height (WAH) and temporary works experience.

• Minimum Level 3 qualification in Health and Safety (or equivalent).
• SSIP Assessor accreditation.
• Ambition to achieve Chartered status with IOSH or similar professional body.

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
