Production Engineer – Mechatronic Systems

The role

The Production Engineer in the mechatronic systems area plays a pivotal role in optimising production processes and ensuring the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and compliance for mechatronic systems, assemblies, and components. This position focuses on the practical application of engineering principles on the factory floor, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to translate designs into reliable, scalable production.

What you’ll do

* Develop, evaluate, and continuously improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness

* Support the setup and launch of new mechatronic assembly lines in collaboration with cross-functional teams

* Design and implement manufacturing tools, equipment, and procedures to ensure optimal workflow and equipment layout

* Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to ensure manufacturability and adherence to specifications

* Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, including production planning and prototype builds

* Analyse production data to identify trends, resolve issues, and recommend process improvements

* Conduct root cause analysis for manufacturing issues and implement effective corrective actions

* Prepare and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, routings, process specifications, and technical reports

* Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to eliminate waste and drive continuous improvement

* Provide technical guidance and hands-on support to production teams

What we’re looking for

* Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field

* 2–3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably within regulated or high-reliability industries (e.g. maritime, defence, aerospace)

* Proficiency with CAD software such as Solid Works, CATIA, NX, or Inventor

* Exposure to electronic engineering and/or mechanical engineering

* Strong understanding of manufacturing materials and processes, including composites and CNC machining

* Knowledge of quality control standards, statistical process control, and inspection techniques

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams

* Familiarity with data analysis tools and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
