Experienced Engineering Technician required to work 3 on 3 off nights shift for a Global manufacturer at their Plymouth based site. As part of the moulding team, the successful candidate will undertake a wide range of engineering‑related activities associated with company manufacturing processes. Working collaboratively with the wider team, you will diagnose and resolve equipment issues, drive improvements in machine performance, and support engineering contractors working onsite.

- Provide specialist technical support to the production teams by diagnosing and resolving complex machine‑related issues, acting as the primary problem solver for engineering and technical teams, and implementing robust engineering solutions that prevent future recurrence.
- Identify improvements to current equipment that deliver Health & Safety benefits, reduce costs, boost productivity, or enhance quality.
- Ensure all manufacturing equipment is set up and produces product according to established standards and validated settings.
- Ensure active participation in regular team meetings and contributing to project teams as required. Maintain clear communication and effective information transfer within and between shifts, while working efficiently and collaborating with moulding process engineering and other support functions to meet production targets.
- Support the ongoing development of technical and moulding teams by providing coaching, guidance, and training, supporting effective knowledge transfer from engineering, and promoting quality workmanship and good practices across the shift.
- A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, coupled with proven experience working within maintenance engineering in a highly automated manufacturing environment.
- A strong engineering aptitude with the ability to fault‑find and resolve technical problems effectively.
- Excellent communication skills with a positive, supportive attitude and the patience needed to mentor and guide less experienced colleagues.
- Strong IT skills, including previous experience using an ERP or MRP system for logging maintenance activities, ordering parts, and using system data to support fault diagnosis.
- Engineering experience gained from working in a moulding environment would be highly advantageous.
- Background in hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, electrical, and servo systems is highly desirable.

- 24 days holiday + 8 statuatory Bank Holidays per year (rising to 25 days holiday + 8 days BH after 5 years of service).
The successful candidate must be able to commit to working a 3 on 3 off night shift pattern of 23:00 to 11:00. The successful candidate will be paid a 37% shift premium for this shift pattern.
