Lead the delivery of complex, high‑impact projects that shape national security.

As a Senior Project Controller, you’ll play a vital leadership role within our Submarine Disposal programme, one of the most unique and nationally important areas of our Naval Nuclear sector. This is your opportunity to drive excellence in project performance, lead a multi‑disciplined team, and help deliver complex engineering and decommissioning projects that directly support UK defence capability.

Day‑to‑day, you’ll act as deputy to the Senior Project Controls Manager, guiding a large and diverse Project Controls team and ensuring the successful control of up to nine major submarine disposal projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a multi‑discipline Project Controls team across two UK locations.
  • Oversee planning, governance, and reporting for multiple submarine disposal baselines.
  • Drive coherence and quality across all project controls datasets and performance metrics.
  • Deliver project assurance activities across the full project lifecycle, including pre‑bid.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to over 30 project controls professionals.
Essential

Experience:
  • Extensive experience in project controls, project management, or programme management.
  • Proven experience leading and managing teams.
  • Recent, relevant experience in cost control or finance within a comparable sector.
  • Experience managing complex project controls across varied products, services, and lifecycle stages.
  • Experience working within engineering, nuclear, defence, or other highly regulated environments (advantageous).
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, construction management or a related discipline.
  • APM Project Professional Qualification (PPQ) or equivalent.
  • Additional project management certifications or advanced professional memberships — Desirable.
Security Clearance:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions. This means that your eligibility for certain roles may be affected by your place of birth, nationality, current or former citizenship, and any residency you hold or have held.
