What you’ll do- Installing, aligning and assembling mechanical components to precise tolerances
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, schematics and technical specifications
- Operating workshop machinery and specialising tools safely and effectively
- Carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems
- Conducting functional testing, leak detection and pressure testing to verify performance
- Proficient in the maintenance and troubleshooting of hydraulic, pneumatic, rotating, and static mechanical systems with a marine, nuclear, heavy mechanical, or industrial environment.
- Proficient in laser alignment, vibration analysis, and system commissioning/decommissioning.
- Self-driven with a strong commitment to career development and continuous improvement.
- Holds a time-served apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering/Fitting.
- Experienced in mentoring apprentices and sharing technical knowledge with peers.
