Access Talent Group is currently recruiting for a medium-sized design consultancy based in Yorkshire. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Civil Engineer with expertise in drainage design and flood risk assessments to join a dynamic and growing team.

In this role, you will play a pivotal part in designing sustainable drainage systems, assessing flood risks, and contributing to projects within a multidisciplinary team. You will be working on projects within the residential, commercial, and infrastructure sectors with a large pipeline of work within the Environmental sector.

Responsibilities
  • Drainage Design:
    Develop detailed designs for surface water and foul drainage systems using industry-standard software (e.g., Micro Drainage, Civil 3D, or similar).
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., SuDS, local authority guidance, national regulations).
  • Flood Risk Assessments (FRA):
    Conduct flood risk assessments for planning applications, ensuring adherence to current legislation and best practices.
  • Prepare risk assessments, site walkovers and oversee CCTV inspections.
  • Liaise with clients and stakeholders.
  • Manage time and budgets.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience:

    Minimum of 3 years in civil engineering, with a focus on drainage design and flood risk assessments.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    Competence in drainage design software (e.g., Micro Drainage, Civil 3D, AutoCAD).
  • Familiarity with flood risk modeling tools and GIS platforms is advantageous.
  • Knowledge:
    Strong understanding of SuDS principles, the UK planning system, and relevant design codes and standards.
