We are hiring for Mechanical Handling Engineers based in the Southwest area. This is a permanent, hybrid-based role.

We’re working with an engineering company specialising in solving complex engineering challenges across industries, including power generation, rail, and more.

This role is for a Mechanical Engineer—someone ambitious and ready to make an impact. You’ll be results‑oriented and driven to succeed, leading a small, experienced, and collaborative team.

Key responsibilities:

• Working collaboratively with the customer within the Mechanical Handling and Building Services teams to provide technical support on non‑nuclear and nuclear mechanical handling assets and facilities within the site.
• Supporting the Mechanical Engineering lead in key delivery projects.
• Providing technical support to the ongoing operations and maintenance of DRDL’s extant mechanical handling assets.

We’re looking for people who can display the following:

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Relevant mechanical engineering experience in a highly regulated industry.
• Knowledge and awareness of cranes, crane safety and associated mechanical handling systems.
• Proficiency in the production of electrical/mechanical engineering drawings.
• Proficiency in the production of hand calculations and FEA.
• Experience in the design process and producing evidence of the design and substantiation of systems and components.
