Geotechnical Site Engineer/Geotechnical Section Engineer

Location – Plymouth

• Assist in the preparation of as-built drawings.
• Assist in establishing effective systems to record work completed, updating the Project Quality Plan accordingly.
• Participate in developing quality check sheets and carrying out quality checks & surveys.
• Assist with site safety, environmental & quality inspections.
• Help manage systems to enable progress of work to be reviewed against time, quality, dimensions, and quantity.
• Assist in recording and testing workmanship and materials, i.e., drilling, grouting & anchoring.
• Provide engineering support to ensure technical problems are overcome and queries are answered.
• Set out works constructed within allowable tolerances, from a provided site control.
• Complete Daily Diaries.
• Keep trackers up to date.
• Assist in procurement of site materials and equipment.
• Ensure workforce understands that setting out information is suitable for the type of work being carried out.
• Assist in preparing sketches for distribution on site, ensuring clear communication channels are in place for effective understanding.
• Maintain drawing register.

• Academic qualification (Level 3 or above – HNC, HND, Degree).
• Familiar with survey equipment (GPS, Total Station) for setting out & survey.
• Experience in geotechnical applications such as drilling, grouting, anchor installation, inspection and testing.
• Awareness of commercial processes.
• Familiar with Quality Management System and competent in writing RAMS.
• Proven people and project management skills.
• Good standard of IT skills.
• Flexible to working weekends and out of hours on a rota basis to suit project requirements.
• Supervisor HSE test, CSCS – White AQP Car.
