Join our 2027 Graduate Programme as a Graduate Building Physics Engineer in our Plymouth office, where you'll be part of a market-leading Buildings discipline.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a team which specialises in the delivery of building services, energy and sustainability services, where we offer a fresh approach by getting involved early, working collaboratively with the design team, guiding design development and using our expertise to help clients make key decisions – an approach that always results in a building that delivers.

Our Building Physics Engineers contribute technical expertise to building performance and energy modelling projects across the UK. You will work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to optimise building performance and deliver practical, low‑carbon design solutions.

As a Stantec graduate, you will collaborate with your team and wider cohort, developing your expertise within an exciting and creative interdisciplinary environment and will benefit from strong support from both office and technical colleagues, as well as significant guidance from senior staff within our open and collaborative culture.

About

The Role
  • Working on live projects from the start in a variety of sectors from healthcare to education
  • Work collaboratively on development of sustainable energy strategies for new build and existing buildings using dynamic thermal modelling
  • Using Revit, AutoCAD and 3D BIM modelling software in design production
  • Assess building performance and operational energy optimization
  • Gain certification and aid compliance within Building Regulations across England, Scotland and Wales
  • Participating in design team and client meetings
  • Undertaking site visits or surveys
  • Researching and implementing new technologies
  • Assess a projects ability to achieve Net Zero and BREEAM targets
  • Continuous CPD and learning opportunities
  • Your typical work might include Part L assessments, Thermal comfort analysis (TM52/TM59), Operational Energy modelling (TM54) and Heating / Cooling load calculations.
