Permanent | Senior Leadership Exposure | Commercially Focused Role

Butler Rose is delighted to be working with a well-established, privately owned organisation to recruit a Finance Manager into a pivotal, hands‑on role.

This is a senior position reporting directly to the Managing Director, taking full ownership of the finance function and acting as a key adviser to the Leadership Team. The role combines robust financial control with forward‑looking insight, supporting decision‑making and driving improved commercial performance across the business.

As Finance Manager, you will lead all aspects of financial management, ensuring accurate reporting, strong controls and compliance with statutory obligations. You will also play a critical role in analysing performance, managing cashflow and supporting strategic planning.

Key responsibilities include:

• Full responsibility for the accounting function, ensuring accuracy and statutory deadlines are met
• Preparation of timely monthly management accounts with meaningful commentary and insight
• Managing budgets, forecasts, cashflow reporting and ad‑hoc financial analysis
• Proactive credit control, invoicing and management of aged debt
• Acting as a financial sounding board to the Leadership Team, providing recommendations to support growth and profitability
• Submission of VAT, PAYE and Corporation Tax returns and liaison with external accountants

This role will suit a commercially minded finance professional who is comfortable operating autonomously and influencing senior stakeholders.

You will ideally have:

• AAT level 4 or part qualified ACCA, CIMA, OR ACA
• Proven experience operating as a Finance Manager (or equivalent) within a commercial, privately owned business
• Strong management accounting expertise, including budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems
• A proactive, detail‑focused and resilient mindset, with the confidence to challenge and influence at leadership level
