Finance Manager - FTC

We are seeking a Finance Manager for a Plymouth based manufacturing company. This is an initial 3-month fixed term contract with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate. This role oversees the sites financial performance, manages daily transactional workflows, and produces accurate monthly management accounts. Responsibilities Deliver accurate monthly management accounts, providing variance analysis and financial commentary to senior management and the group board.

Oversee all core accounting operations, including Billing, AR/AP, General Ledger, Inventory, and Revenue Recognition. Forecast and manage company cash flow and liquidity, overseeing banking requirements and transactional accuracy. Lead and mentor the Finance Assistant to ensure high performance while driving a culture of continuous process improvement. Partner with Sales and Operations to align financial performance with production planning, cost control, and efficiency initiatives.

Manage the companys budget and quarterly forecasts, ensuring all balance sheet reconciliations and schedules are maintained. Ensure full compliance with statutory requirements, including VAT returns, while coordinating annual audits and periodic reviews. Evaluate and optimise financial systems and internal controls to streamline workflows and improve reporting efficiency. Experience and Skills Proven experience in a similar Finance Manager role, specifically within a manufacturing SME environment.

Fully qualified (AAT, ACCA, or CIMA) with a strong grasp of financial regulations and standards. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (vlookups and pivots) and a high aptitude for learning new ERP systems. Strong ability to business-partner and build professional relationships across different departments. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills with a focus on improving financial processes. High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
