Temporary Management Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Management Accountant on a temporary basis to provide high‑quality financial planning, reporting and business‑partnering support across a complex organisation.

This role plays a key part in developing and managing budgets, producing timely management information, and working closely with budget holders to monitor performance and support informed decision‑making.

• Lead on the preparation, monitoring and review of annual budgets, forecasts and business plans.
• Produce accurate monthly management accounts, highlighting key variances and risks.
• Work closely with budget holders, meeting regularly to review financial performance and agree corrective actions where required.
• Provide clear financial guidance to non‑Finance colleagues, ensuring compliance with processes, controls and best practice.
• Support programme, project and contract costings and other financial modelling activities.
• Maintain and develop finance systems and reporting structures to support efficient budgeting and performance monitoring.
• Support regulatory and statutory financial returns and undertake ad‑hoc financial analysis as required.

• Proven experience in management accounting, budgeting and forecasting.
• Confident in liaising with and influencing budget holders at all levels.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly.
• Proactive, well‑organised and solutions‑focused, with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Accounting qualification (or part‑qualified with relevant experience) desirable.
