The Business You will be joining an established, directly authorized independent financial planning business providing advice to private clients. The firm has a developed support structure around its advisers, including dedicated paraplanning, administration and investment expertise. It has also invested in its own technology and back-office systems, with the aim of allowing its people to spend more time on valuable financial planning work.

The Role As a Paraplanner, you will work closely with Financial Advisers to help develop appropriate recommendations for their clients. Rather than being restricted to report writing, your work will include:
Carrying out technical and product research Analyzing clients' existing arrangements and potential solutions Preparing cashflow plans and forecasts Producing suitability reports and supporting documentation Working with advisers to help shape financial planning recommendations Supporting cases across a variety of clients and financial planning needs The paraplanning function operates on a pooled basis, giving you exposure to different advisers and a broader variety of work rather than being tied exclusively to one individual.
For somebody who ultimately wants to become a Financial Adviser, there is also a potential progression route. Paraplanners within the business have previously moved into adviser positions. What they are looking for You should be an experienced Paraplanner who is comfortable taking genuine technical responsibility for your work. You will need:
Previous paraplanning experience within financial planning Level 4 financial planning qualifications Strong technical research and analytical skills Experience producing suitability reports The ability to work collaboratively with advisers on client recommendations Good written communication and attention to detail
Experience of cashflow planning and an interest in the wider financial planning process will be particularly relevant to the role.
