Interim Accountant

Temporary Accountant Job in Plymouth for 3 months An exciting educational organisation in Plymouth is seeking an experienced Temporary Accountant to join its finance team on an interim basis until the end of December 2026. This is a varied and hands-on role that will provide vital support across the finance function, offering exposure to a wide range of accounting and finance activities.

Key Responsibilities:

* Preparation of monthly management accounts
* Supporting year-end processes and statutory reporting requirements
* Assisting with audit preparation and responding to audit queries
* Financial forecasting and budget monitoring
* Providing guidance and support to School Finance Officers
* Assisting with project-based finance initiatives
* Performing financial analysis and reporting as required
* Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc accounting duties

About You:

* Qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience accountant
* Previous experience within an education, academy trust, school, charity or not-for-profit environment would be highly advantageous
* Strong management accounting and financial reporting skills
* Experience of year-end processes and audit preparation
* Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative finance team
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
