Plymouth Talking Therapies are looking for a Qualified and Accredited PWP to join the Low Intensity Therapy/Step 2 team.

If you are in the final stages of a Grad or Post Grad Cert or MSci Talking Therapies PWP qualification and are awaiting your final results we would welcome your application. Please respond positively to the pre-application question to allow you to apply. We would appoint in a Band 4 role progressing to Band 5 once BABCP/BPS Registration is completed.

You will gain-

  • Being part of our nationally recognised work in delivering Talking Therapies to neurodivergent communities.
  • Integrating Talking Therapies within long term conditions care pathways in collaboration with our colleagues in Livewell and University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust.

You will be part of a supportive team of PWP colleagues & deliver the full range of low intensity CBT interventions.

This role may not be eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route; please refer to the Direct Gov website for more information with regards to eligibility.

Main duties of the job

Assess& provide evidence based treatment to people with common mental health problems in the self-management of their recovery. Complete patient centred assessments to identify areas where the person wishes to see change &make accurate assessments of risk to self & others.

Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the departments referral protocols, refer patients on to other appropriate services or back tothe referrer as necessary; or determining stepping up the person for treatment at high intensity.

Provide a range of information & treatment using evidence based low intensity psychological interventions. This includes guided self-help, computerised CBT, psycho educational courses and information about pharmacological treatments.

Work closely with other members of the team to ensure the Stepped care model is consistent. This work maybe face to face, telephone or via other platforms.

Adhereto an agreed work plan relating to clinical time carried out per week in order to minimise waiting times & ensure treatment delivery remains accessible &convenient.

Complete all requirements relating to data collection within the service. Keeping professional and coherent records of all clinical activity in line with Livewell clinical record keeping policy.

Attending and engaging with weekly caseload management supervision and fortnightly clinical skills supervision.
