Radiographer; Bank

Role Summary

Radiographer – Plymouth Hospital – Radiology – Bank, Ad hoc, Part time. Up to £18.00 per hour, dependent on experience.

Working on the bank means you are not contracted to a set number of hours per week but instead work on an ad‑hoc basis to suit the needs of the business and your availability.

• Deliver a high-quality diagnostic imaging service for a very varied caseload – within the department, on the ward and in theatre.
• Working with leading practitioners and experiencing new practices, equipment and facilities.
• As a clinical lead, enjoy scoping to develop policies and procedures.
• Supervise and develop more junior staff members.
• Providing a service of the highest quality, delivered with sensitivity and compassion.

• A BSC degree in diagnostic radiography (or equivalent) to meet the registration requirements of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
• A postgraduate qualification in an area of specialization.
• Radiation Protection Supervisor training and/or qualification are desirable.

• Post registration experience relevant to the role.

• High levels of technical knowledge and the ability to work quickly and accurately, with a great eye for detail.
• A caring nature – to see each patient as an individual and carry out this role with understanding and empathy.
• Excellent communication and team working abilities.

Nuffield Health Plymouth Hospital is situated next to the Nuffield Health Devonshire Gym, in Derriford, Plymouth, and has been part of the Plymouth community since 1971. We have three main theatres (two laminar flow and one digital), a fully JAG accredited endoscopy suite, a 35‑bedded ward, and an outpatients department with 12 consulting rooms, a dedicated ophthalmology suite and ENT service.
